Die van Deelder lijkt me best aardig:
Deelder draait

SNOW
Just the Story
Some things happen for a reason. Some things happen by chance, but, chances are there's a reason for that too. Take for example the boy that was born John Sikeston who became the famous (or infamous depending on who you are) SNOW. People call him that because he has a slight Albino appearance and I believe it was his little sister who coined the nickname to torment him. But, as fate would have it, this little piece of torture stuck for life.
He was born in some nameless place in the midwest of America by hard working parents who were faithful church goers in the traditional sense. Which means it didn't really affect their hearts so much as was just one more thing they had to do, like going to work on Monday morning. Perhaps this accounts for Snow's unorthodox religious tendencies. Perhaps not.
So, he was raised by a working man in a working man's land. The only problem was he didn't blend. In a place where everyone was supposed to blend, he stood out like the only cloud in a cloudless sky. Poetic, isn't it? Well, he didn't feel very poetic. He felt uncom- fortable most of his childhood. Then, when he realized he had a special kind of a gift for seeing into peoples lives, he felt even MORE uncomfortable. And somehow he knew it would be frowned upon. Like how children automatically know that lying and other nasty things are wrong. He just knew. So he kept it a secret until he was a teenager. What a horrible thing to hide.
Well, we don't have all day, do we? So, I'll get on with it. At some point in his teenage years our hero had a spiritual experience (which shall be left to your own imagination) and left home for New York City. Where else? Isn't that where they all go? Another kid from Iowa or some place wandering around trying to find his way. This was in the days when it was a pretty smutty place. I understand they've cleaned it up now. Anyway, so there's this Albino kid walking around all goo-goo eyed, checking everything out with full childish innocence when this ugly black kid comes up to him and starts hassling him about coming into a strip joint. He seems to be enjoying himself as he's taunting the kid when the kid grabs his arm and something happens.
'You ain't no flea... look at you now... look at you now flea...'. The man says looking over the dead body. The body was beaten up so bad it was an IT. Unrecognizable. Then the man and his partner leave and there's a terrible silence. He's alone with IT. 'I'll never come out... I'll never come out... that's what I'll do... I ain't never comin' out'. The ugly black kid (who we'll call the Harlem Knight) stood there on the street repeating that for while when something else happened. He felt a kind of rushing love come over him. All in the same moment! You see, that was the kid's Dad whom he watched get beat to death on the living room floor of their Brooklyn apartment 15 years ago. Somehow through his touching this white haired freak boy, the nightmare that he'd been trying to out run all his life, now felt like it was... gone. No, not gone, but powerless. It's hard to describe these things. After that things move pretty quickly. Snow and the Knight start converting and healing other bad off people in the city. Junkies and whores and the like. Soon he has a street mission. He holds meetings in parks and wherever he can. His following grows at an astounding rate.
Now he's a big deal. He and the Knight create an organization called 'The Touch That Heals' organization or THO for short. Things go along all right for a while and then his ego begins to attack him. Right about the same time he falls for a girl who hates his guts. The irony of this guy who can see so much about people's lives and yet has no clue what's going on with the girl he loves does not escape many. When he touches her he sees his own downfall. He sees himself on the street, drunk, strung out and near death. This sends him over the edge. He spirals down, winds up homeless himself and the vision becomes true.
Then in the end his friends come and lift him up, bring him to a hospital and back to life. There's a lot more to it but we can't go into right now. Suffice to say, he winds up coming back to them and being renewed in the same way he renewed them. They walk off into the sunset leaving plenty of room for the sequel. That's the gist of it but there's more. We'll leave the rest to you...
